CASE STUDY: MAIL

Al Platt

Al Platt ran for NC House District 119 in 2022 against incumbent Republican Mike Clampitt. Knowing that we would have an uphill battle in a traditionally Republican district, Al ran an aggressive mail program that began by introducing voters to his values and his biography before pivoting into a set of pieces that contrasted him against his Republican opponent. Although Al ultimately didn’t win the district, he put up a performance any candidate could be proud of, raising a historic amount of money for his race and overperforming Cheri Beasley by 5 points on the same ballot to improve on the district’s 2020 results even in a year when most Democrats lost ground in North Carolina.
